Motorbiking Santas will be heading through Cornwall next weekend to raise festive cheer in support of Children’s Hospice South West (CHSW).

The ride to the charity’s Little Harbour children’s hospice in St Austell starts at Lee Mill Industrial Estate in Ivybridge at 12.15pm and will call in at Ivybridge (12.30pm); Saltash (1pm); Liskeard (2pm); and St Austell (3pm) on route to the hospice.

The annual Santas on Bike fundraiser has raised thousands of pounds for CHSW over the years, as well as bringing smiles to the faces of people who line the various routes to watch them.

This year it takes place on Saturday, December 3.

Organisers said: “All bikes, trikes and quads are welcome, and the ride is fully L-plate friendly. Don’t worry if you’ve not attended a group ride before, you’ll be made very welcome.

“We’re expecting hundreds of Santas, snowmen, elves and reindeer riding bikes covered in festive decorations all over the South West.

“Spread the word, invite your friends and support your local children’s hospice – let’s make this the biggest and best year ever.”

Rides are also taking place to CHSW’s Charlton Farm hospice near Bristol today, and to the charity’s Little Bridge House hospice in North Devon, on December 10.
