Most weeks at least one lost dog is collected in Cornwall by the council's animal welfare team.

Usually these are taken in to kennels for care, until the owner can be traced and reunited with their pet.

In the past week a Staffordshire Bull Terrier found in Troon and a black Labrador found in Tuckingmill have both been collected.

However, sometimes it takes a bit longer to reunite owners with pets.

Cornwall Council has posted a list of dogs still awaiting collection from its kennels:

- A female black and white Staffordshire Bull Terrier found in Pentewan Road, St Austell

- A female golden brown Staffordshire Bull Terrier, found between Liskeard Road and Castle Hill, Trematon

- A female black Staffordshire Bull Terrier Cross, found in West View, Perranporth

Anyone who thinks their dog is listed should contact Animal Welfare and Enforcement Team at the council on 0300 1234 212.

You can also call this number if you've lost your dog and don't think it's listed below, to register it missing.
