Falmouth’s businesses got into the festive spirit with a ‘Christmas cracker’ range of window displays.

The festive window displays were planned to coincide with the Festive Weekend, thereby ensuring windows were looking there very best for the said to-be well-received festival.

Willow & Stone, with their fantastic and highly original giant letter box, robin, and Christmas cracker scooped the first prize; Southpaw Dog Store with their creative, colourful, and fun ‘doggytastic’ display took second place; while Falmouth Bookseller’s creative book arrangements and festive stencilling took third place.

Falmouth Bookseller also had to decorate over a recently broken window, making their efforts of particular note.

Cllr Steve Eva, Mayor of Falmouth said: “It was a tough call, with so many lovely window displays on show.

“Despite the challenges faced by the business community, many took part, which was so refreshing.

“The windows also add to the hugely successful ‘Festive Weekend’ and we have received lots of positive comments about how great the town looked over the past few days.

“Well done to one and all.”

The Falmouth BID co-ordinated the competition and Richard Wilcox, Falmouth BID Manager added: “Having such invention and creativity within our business community is a real asset.

“It enhances our offer greatly and gives another reason to visit and spend time in our special town. The more engaged our business community is with the Town Team, the more effectively projects, events, and initiatives can be run.”
