A CHARITABLE social enterprise has celebrated the success of a sports centre in Helston.

Each year, GLL hosts a communication day for all of its staff to attend. The day includes a round-up of the year gone, the good and the bad parts of 2022.

It's also a chance to discuss how the business is performing and potential challenges in the New Year.

The day proceeds with a video from GLL CEO played at all GLLs Leisure centres/ Children Centres and Libraries on the same day across the country. This year it was filmed at Charlton Lido in London with a critical focus on the energy cost of living crisis that has been the biggest challenge of 2022.

Each of the centres in the partnership chose winners for the four categories. Helston Sports Centre's winners this year were: Keith Bowler, Better Energy, Matthew Rowland, Better Community, Better People, Lydia Jenkins and Better Pride Award, the Helston Management Team.

General Manager at Helston Sports Centre, Lucy Weeks said: "I'm proud of Helston's staff as the Cornwall partnership came together to celebrate this year's success's in GLL-wide Communication Day."
