HELSTON Football Club paid tribute to a lifelong member and former groundsman after his death last week.

David Treloar dedicated hours of voluntary service to the club and continued to attend match days in his later years, whenever he could. 

Sadly, David passed away on Wednesday, December 21.

On Thursday, Helston Athletic Football Club paid tribute to David on its social media page, saying: "Helston Athletic Football Club is saddened to hear of the passing of life member and former groundsman, David Treloar.

“The club offers condolences to wife Christine, sons Philip and Paul, and all family and friends.”

The post received comments from many, who knew David. 

Matty Beecher, 33 commented: “Lovely man, always had a chat with him at the football club,”

Julie Tullin commented: “That’s so sad. Such a lovely man,”

David Goodchild said: “So sorry to hear absolute great man RIP dave very sadly missed.”

Funeral details for David have yet to be announced.
