Cornwall woke up to a blanket of snow this morning, prompting great excitement from the white stuff starved people of the Duchy.
Photographers were out in force to capture the not so common moment and we've rounded up some of the best ones for a best of the day Packet photo gallery
.
Some places escaped the snow with many people wondering what all the fuss was about, however just a few miles away it was a totally different story.
Whilst there was no settled snow in Mylor Bridge, Penryn just up the road was covered. Helston got a light dusting but up to three inches of snow was lying on the ground around Stithians, Carn Brea and Redruth.
The snow first started falling around 3am this morning causing traffic chaos on the A30 at Carland Cross where the road was blocked by snow.
Many schools remained closed or opened later in the morning to give staff a chance to get in. Some pubs, including the Halfway House at Rame was forced to close for the day as its car park was too icy.
More snow is being forecast for tonight with icy conditions forecast, so be careful out there!
