Five locations in Cornwall have been named among the top 45 most romantic honeymoon destinations in the UK, according to new research.

The Isles of Scilly was ranked 2nd on the list from Fabulous Bingo, alongside Polperro in 9th, Mousehole in 22nd, Helford in 38th and Portloe in 39th.

Fabulous Bingo conducted analysis having referred to articles displaying the ‘prettiest’ locations mapped nationwide, including FBM Holidays, Condé Nast Traveller and Which, to form a combined seed list of the most romantic honeymoon destinations in the UK.

A total of 45 locations were identified and investigated for the list from this process.

To determine which honeymoon destination is most popular, the site utilised Google search volume through average searches per month, having searched for the name of the location only.

The Isles of Scilly accumulated 90,500 average monthly searches with Polperro getting 33,100 and Mousehole getting 18,100.

Meanwhile, Helford got 4,400 and Portloe accumulated 3,600.

What does Cornwall have to offer?

Cornwall had five representatives on the list, which was the most of any county alongside Yorkshire.

Perhaps part of the reason why so many were searched so often for romantic honeymoon destinations is how picturesque they are.

They are the perfect places to stroll around, especially in gorgeous summer weather, so end up being great places to relax.

Plus, with Cornwall having so many great options for dining out and drinking, couples wouldn't be short of options there either.
