A pub has submitted plans to convert an outbuilding into four guest rooms so that it can offer tourists somewhere to stay.

The Queen’s Arms at Botallack, St Just, has plans for the outbuilding and redecoration of other parts of the pub.

A planning statement explains that permission was previously granted for the outbuilding for holiday use.

It states: “Each new room is designed for a single person or a couple rather than for family use so there is no need for additional play facilities nor for amenity space.

"There is parking space for guests staying in the outbuilding but the applicant is particularly planning to welcome walkers using the coast path which runs within a mile of the Queen’s Arms.

"He has plans to work with other pubs, hotels and B&B accommodation along the coast path in both directions to arrange the transport of walkers’ luggage.

“A cycleway runs through Botallack so cyclists would be equally welcome.

"Although guests could stay longer the rooms are particularly designed for overnight stays with ensuite facilities, comfortable beds and meals, and some drying facilities in the pub.”

A separate application has been submitted for listed building consent for the works.
