One lucky winner of a charity lottery could be in line for a £1,000 payout – but only if they come forward in the next ten days.

Children’s Hospice South West (CHSW) is now hoping someone will claim the prize before the deadline next Thursday, March 9.

The lucky ticket - number 500728 - was bought in the first week of September 2022 in the Camborne shop in Commercial Square, for the weekly draw on September 9. However, it has still not been claimed.

Holly Brownett, assistant manager of the shop, said: “We have had our fingers crossed for so long to find this person - an extra £1,000 in their pocket would be welcomed, I’m sure.”

The deadline for the money to be claimed is March 9, after which it will be treated as a donation to the charity.

CHSW lottery manager Stephanie Charles said: “The six months we give supporters to claim a shop ticket prize is almost up and we would really love to unite the lucky individual with their winnings!

“If you are the lucky owner of the winning £1,000 ticket, please call the Lottery Helpline on 01271 313 311 to claim your prize.”

The CHSW weekly lottery draw offers the chance to win one of 14 weekly prizes, including a top prize of £1,000. There is also the chance to win a bonus rollover, which can reach up to £10,000 and currently stands at £2,200.

Tickets can be bought in any of the charity’s 38 shops around the south west and people can also play weekly by direct debit.

Lottery gift subscriptions are also available, with the money raised going directly to support the charity’s three children’s hospices in Cornwall, Devon and North Somerset, including Little Harbour in St Austell.
