A beauty therapist from Cornwall has spoken of her love for Helston after opening a new business in BeGorgeous hair and beauty salon this week.

Lucy Phillips, 26, moved to Helston two months ago and has now opened her beauty therapy business Lucky Bees Beauty, which officially launched on Tuesday.

Originally from Liskeard, where she gained her Level 2 qualification in beauty therapy, Lucy decided to relocate to Helston and move in with her partner Ryan Lamb.

She has been welcomed by the team at BeGorgeous where she will provide a wide range of beauty services to customers including eyelash extensions, eyebrow waxing, body waxing, massaging and nail work in a separate salon upstairs, opposite the Guildhall.

Speaking of her newfound love for the town, Lucy said: “I love Helston, it’s gorgeous and close to beaches.

“Everyone has been so welcoming since I arrived including Ryan’s family, the people and the girls at BeGorgeous have all been so supportive."

The salon opened on Tuesday (March 14) and Lucy has already received several bookings from new clients.

Lucy told the Packet why she named her business Lucky Bees.

She said: “I love bees, I always felt a connection to them. I have a bee tattoo on one arm and people have said to me previously that I am quite a lucky person, and that’s where the business name came from.”

As well as a love for bees, Lucy also explained what members of the public can expect when coming in for treatments.

“The salon is a warm and inviting place to relax after a stressful day," she said.

Belinda Dunn and Laura Wallis owners of BeGorgeous have recently renovated their upstairs space into two new treatment rooms.

Laura said: "The space is particularly special as it has views over Helston town.

"We were delighted to be approached by Lucy who wanted to start her new business from our salon.

"She will be offering treatments that our other two in-house beauty therapists don’t offer including eyelash extensions and massage treatments.

"We still have one more treatment room to rent on a daily basis or weekly, this would be a great space to offer any treatments we don’t currently offer."

Lucky Bees Beauty is open Tuesday to Friday between 10am and 4pm and every other Saturday from 10am until 3pm.

Appointments are available to book now via Facebook, Instagram or email.
