A TEENAGER has been sentenced for a string of driving offences including drug driving and driving without a licence, insurance, or a valid test certificate.
Leon Tamblin, aged 19, of Polruan Road in Malpas, Truro, appeared in front of magistrates at Truro Magistrates' Court on Tuesday, May 2 on three counts of driving a vehicle with a controlled drug above the specified limit; one count of driving without a valid test certificate; one count of driving otherwise than in accordance with a licence; and one count of driving without third-party insurance.
The offences all took place on Sunday, January 15 on the A390 at Tregolls Road where Tamblin was found to be driving a black Honda CBR otherwise than in accordance with a licence as well as being without third-party insurance or a valid test certificate.
Tamblin was also found to with cocaine, Benzoylecgonine - a cocaine metabolite, and Delta-9-Tetrahydrocannabinol in his blood, all above the specified legal limit.
He pleaded guilty to all six offences.
During his sentencing, Tamblin was disqualified for holding or obtaining a driving licence for 24 months and had his driving record endorsed as well as being fined £933 and made to pay a surcharge to fund victim services of £373 and costs of £85 to the Crown Prosecution Service.
The court also noted how Tamblin's guilty pleas had been taken into account when imposing the sentence.
