Hundreds of people took part in Falmouth Race for Life this morning in glorious sunshine running for loved ones and to raise cancer awareness..

Runners, walkers and their families gathered in Gyllyngvase Beach car park to listen to stories about why they were there, before a mass warm-up before the race proper.

People gathered at the start line before setting off around the 10k and 5k route along Cliff Road around Pendennis Point and back again.

The weather was extremely hot so it took a lot of guts and determination for people to even get around the short course, let alone the 10k.

This year sees the thirtieth anniversary of Cancer Research UK's Race for Life and raise money for life-saving cancer research.

This year, people have the choice to join Race for Life and celebrate Dame Deborah James, also known as Bowelbabe. Runners can choose to Race for Bowelbabe at any event, and all the money raised will go to the Bowelbabe Fund for Cancer Research UK.
