A new tapas bar serving authentic Spanish cuisine with a Cornish twist is set to open in Falmouth this week.

Casa Tapa which is on Bar Road in the former Little Red Rooster building will open its doors to diners this Friday (June 3)

The bar is owned and operated by Fraser Hill who has a passion for serving Spanish food and using locally sourced Cornish ingredients.

The tapas dishes range from chorizo in Cornish cider to mussels in a cream, garlic and white wine sauce and roasted aubergine with molasses.

Fraser tells the Packet about why he wanted to open the new bar in Falmouth. He said: “Falmouth for me is the place to go in Cornwall with year-round trade, it is really foodie and it has good energy."

“We'll be using local ingredients, as local as we can, and are growing our own herbs and tomatoes.

“I am so excited to bring some Spanish dishes to Falmouth along with amazing cocktails and carefully selected wines.”

Casa Tapa will be open Wednesday to Monday between 12-3pm and again from 5pm-10.30pm. Reservations are advised but walk-ins are welcome.
