The organiser of a fundraising festival in Helston has thanked those who have supported the event which has raised thousands of pounds for health charities.

Kay Harvey from Porthleven has organised four Heart:Beats Festivals, held at the Blue Anchor in Helston - despite suffering from health problems herself.

This year’s festival which was held on Sunday, April 30 featured live music from The Zalick Band, Guilty Pleasures, Boundless Brothers, Small Wonder, The Roosters, Waine Downing, Valkyire Skyz, Akoustek, Not the Beatles, Baby Brew, High Tide, Mr and Mrs Blue Sky with Philip Greet and Nightchasers Disco.

However, Kay has now made the decision to ‘put closure’ to the Heart:Beats Festival, due to her health. In an emotional post on Facebook, Kay wrote: “So, today is the day I finally put closure to my baby, Heart:Beats Festival 2023.

“It’s been a blast, four festivals, around £20,000 raised all for charity.

“I am forever grateful to those who have helped and supported me, but I have to face facts, I am now far too ill to undertake anymore.”

Kay also made a special thanks to the Blue Anchor for all their support over the years, and for allowing the cheque presentation to be held there. She said: "Huge grateful thanks to Jenine and the Blue Anchor Inn Helston for being the home of Heart:Beats Festival 2023 and allowing the presentation to take place there."
