Update: Sadly a body has been found following a police search for a missing man.

Friends and family of a missing young farmer had been appealing for any sightings of Jack Thomas, from the West Cornwall area, since Sunday evening after he had not been since 3am that day, in the Chiverton Cross area.

Around 200 young farmers club members from across Cornwall were said to be out searching for him at one point. 

At lunchtime it was reported by friends on Facebook that he had been found; sadly in an update from police confirmed that a body had been found in the search.

Earlier Devon and Cornwall Police issued an update over the search for the 21-year-old, saying they feared he could be injured and in need of treatment. 

A force spokesperson said: "It’s understood that Jack had been travelling in a vehicle that was involved in a serious collision and officers are concerned that he may have sustained a serious injury and could require medical treatment."

More than 6,300 people shared an appeal on Facebook by Tom. 

Earlier a spokesperson for Devon and Cornwall Police saying: "Officers are growing increasingly concerned for the welfare of Jack Thomas, a 21-year-old man from Cornwall.

"Jack’s last known whereabouts was in the area of Chiverton Cross Roundabout in the early hours of Sunday, June 11.

"It’s understood that Jack had been travelling in a vehicle that was involved in a serious collision and officers are concerned that he may have sustained a serious injury and could require medical treatment.

"Searches and enquiries are ongoing in order to locate him but police would like to hear from anyone who has seen his or knows of his whereabouts to get in touch."
