The auction of an historic engine house for the ‘Queen of Cornish Mines’ near Camborne has been postponed.
Built in 1886, the Dolcoath Mine House in Dolcoath Road stands on a plot extending to approximately 0.19 acres (0.49 hectares).
With a guide price of £30,000 to £35,000, it was among 140 lots listed across southern England by Clive Emson Auctioneers in the firm’s June auction.
David Henwood, senior auction appraiser covering the westcountry, said: “We were instructed to postpone the sale of this historic engine house, with its copper and tin mining heritage and affectionately known as the ‘Queen of Cornish Mines’, until our July auction.”
Cornwall Council has instructed the sale and the freehold property is being auctioned jointly with Vickery Holman Property Consultants of Truro.

Clive Emson Auctioneers’ next auction ends on July 26, with bidding live 48 hours beforehand and the catalogue live from July 7.
