A SEASIDE town in Cornwall has been ranked as the best staycation destination for holidaymakers with a specific personality type, according to a new analysis.

New research from holidaycottages.co.uk has looked into the ideal holiday destinations for the most common Myers Briggs personality types.

Working with Psychologist and Consultant, Giulia Bianchi, it was found that those with the 'mediator’ personality type should vacation in St Ives.

Mediators are described as people who are introverted, intuitive, feeling and perspective.

According to the analysis, the 'mediators' tend to be lovers of art and beauty, who appreciate authentic experiences. Accordingly, a retreat to St Ives could deeply resonate with their sensitive and idealistic souls.

St Ives has been described as an artistic haven with plenty to offer to creatives. It has long attracted artists, boasting an artistic community with numerous galleries and studios.

Tate St Ives, Penwith Gallery, and Barbara Hepworth Museum and Sculpture Garden are just some of the many galleries and museums the Mediator should pay a visit to for a liberating experience, according to holidaycottages.co.uk.

The analysis also shows that people with the 'Thinker' personality type, those who are introverted, intuitive, thinking and perceiving, should visit Buckinghamshire.

Those who are extroverted, intuitive, thinking and judging, known as the 'Commander' personality type, are advised that Fort William, at the base of Ben Nevis, could be their ideal getaway.
