KIDS in Cornwall will be able to try their hands at a number of activites including skateboarding and parkour as part of a Children's Day event taking place in Cornwall's only city.

Truro BID's Children's Day event will be returning to Truro on Saturday and kids from across the Duchy will be able to take part in a number of have-a-go sessions being held on Lemon Quay.

The event will also feature mountain bike and skateboarding demonstrations along with street entertainment and crazy golf.

As well as trying the activities out for themselves, kids will also be welcome to take part in several activities put on by some of Truro's most popular shops and eateries.

In an update posted on its social media page, Truro City Council said: "Children’s Day will be returning to Truro this Saturday 1 July and the event will have more, mostly free, entertainment and activities than ever before.

"Activities include spectacular mountain bike stunt shows and skateboarding demos, along with have a-go sessions in skateboarding, performance parkour, cycling, circus skills and dance on Lemon Quay.

"Some of Truro's shops and eateries are joining in as well with family friendly in-store activities and offers.

"To make space for all the activities on Lemon Quay, Truro Farmers Market will be relocated to Boscawen Street on Saturday and there will therefore be traffic-free streets in the city centre all day.

"Truro City Council, Truro Farmers Market and Truro BID have all been working closely together to temporarily relocate Truro Farmers Market to Boscawen St.

"Children’s Day is brought to the city by Truro BID and sponsored by Coodes Solicitors. For full event details see www.visittruro.org.uk"
