LAST month saw Penryn College’s Class of 2023 celebrate their school prom.

It was a night to remember as students commemorated the end of their secondary school lives, allowing them to prepare for the next step.

The event took place at the Falmouth Hotel on Thursday, June 29 against a backdrop of a sun-soaked evening and dazzling sea. The Class of 2023 all arrived in style in an array of vehicles, from tractors, motorbikes and sports cars to on horseback, in a horse box and in a lorry.

The students each stepped out of their vehicles into a crowd of family, friends and teachers cheering and clapping their stunning outfits as they gathered on the front lawn of the hotel for photos in front of breath-taking scenery.

That was all before they made their way through the crowd into the Falmouth Hotel where the evening continued with a three-course meal, music, a camera booth and a night full of dancing, in which both students and teachers participated. All the while, this tradition allowed the attendees to laugh and reminisce about fond memories of their five years at Penryn College.

The evening was described as a "magical evening of celebrations" by staff at the college who helped students celebrate the occasion.

A spokesperson from Penryn College said: “Family members and school staff gathered in their hundreds to watch the Class of 2023 arrive atop horses and tractors, and in classic cars, trucks and more, with the evening sunshine adding to the special occasion.

“That was before pupils enjoyed a three-course meal, lots of dancing, a camera booth and, most importantly, lots of laughter and reminiscing.”
