A NEW classic car show is being launched in Cornwall, giving locals the chance to see rare and vintage vehicles of the past 120 years

Truro BID are hosting a new event in the city, the Truro Classic Car Show which will see Lemon Quay transformed for all car lovers to enjoy on Sunday 30 July.

The Truro Classic Car Show will be a rare opportunity to see a wide variety of cherished classic and vintage cars from the 1900s to 1990s.

Cars on show include ‘Whistling Billy’ The Racing ‘White’ Steam Car from 1905, along with a variety of classic brands such as Rolls Royce, MG, Jaguar, Triumph, Mercedes, Bentley and Aston Martin.

Residents and visitors are being encouraged to come along and appreciate the classic and vintage cars, browse automobilia and autojumbles stalls, and enjoy the live music from The Velvets and True Foxes.

The event is being brought to the city by Truro BID, who organised a smaller Classic Car Display on Lower Lemon Street for the Queen’s Jubilee Celebrations last June. The Truro Classic Car Show is being sponsored by Coodes Solicitors and Macmillan Cancer Support will be fundraising on the day.

Alun Jones, Truro BID Manager said: "We are really looking forward to hosting the Truro Classic Car Show later this month. It will be a great opportunity for car enthusiasts to see such a wide variety of much-loved cars in Truro city centre. The event will also help increase footfall into the city for the day and benefit many of our businesses, including hospitality."

Coodes Solicitors Chairman, Peter Lamble, said: "This promises to be a great day out for classic car enthusiasts from across Cornwall and Coodes is delighted to be sponsoring this new event. It will also be raising money for a very important cause and we hope it attracts a lot of people to the city centre."
