An early morning dog walker got more than she bargained for when she went for an early morning stroll along her favourite beach.

The dog walker went to the popular Towan Beach, Newquay at around 7am and found the Mercedes SUV stuck in the sand.

The owner's two pets thought it was a bit 'ruff' finding the car on their favourite beach. Even the singlke lae road sign didn't stop him.

Alongside the vehicle was the owner wondering just how to get out of the sand so she gave him the number of a recovery garage. It was later towed away before the tide came in.

The woman told the Packet: "I Just found it this morning 07:00 be with a man in and gave him a recovery garage to phone The man metal detecting behind has not found any money or the Mercedes."

A number of vehicles get stuck in the sand on beaches across Cornwall every year after driving onto the sand, usually during the tourist season. Somne are even lost to the sea.

Understandably they get liitle sympathy from the locals in Facebook comments
