Children's Hospice South West (CHSW) has revealed that early-bird tickets for this year's Moonlight Memory Walk at the Lost Gardens of Heligan are now available to buy.

The Moonlight Memory Walk will take place at the well-known Cornish garden on Saturday 11 November from 5:30pm, and tickets are currently 30% off, costing just £10.50.

The special memory walk will give people the opportunity to remember and celebrate the lives of their loved ones.

Before walking 4km along Heligan’s lit path, a memory ceremony will be held.

Along the route, there will be special points for people to pause and reflect, whilst completing an activity to mark those they are remembering.

Kiley Pearce, events organiser for CHSW is delighted to be bringing back the event to Heligan. She said: “We feel very fortunate to once again have the opportunity to hold our Moonlight Memory Walk at Heligan this year.

“It is a very poignant event for everyone who takes part, and we welcome participants from across Cornwall, and further afield to remember anybody they have lost, whether it is a grandparent, child, family member or friend.

“This incredible location makes the evening all the more special.”

Walkers for this year's event are being encouraged to raise a small amount of sponsorship in memory of their loved ones, helping to raise funds to ensure children and young people from across Cornwall can access the care and support offered by Little Harbour Children’s Hospice, located a few miles from Heligan in St Austell. Last year the event raised an incredible £30,000.

This year, Hannah Chapman and her family will be speaking at the Moonlight Memory Walk event to remember her six-month-old baby daughter Maisie who sadly died in November 2018 from Mitochondrial Disease.

Hannah said: “The Moonlight Memory Walk this year will mark almost five years since Maisie’s death and it will be an incredible way to remember her.

“We have met so many wonderful families through Little Harbour who have been through so much and we are truly honoured to be part of such a special night.”

Anyone over the age of 12 can take part, dogs are not permitted.

Early-bird tickets are on sale until Tuesday 5 September. The adult (18+) price is £10.50, and the price for children (12-17 years) is £10.50.
