The owner of a missing cat has been inundated with sightings of the wrong pet after its Doppelganger regularly sat under a poster appealing for information.

Angela Howard is desperate to find her daughter Tamzin's pet Tequila before they leave for Wiltshire early on Friday morning, September 1.

She says Tequila went missing a few weeks ago from their home in New Street and while she does not have a collar on she is chipped. She says it is unusual for her to wander off.

In an effort to find Tequila, Angela put up posters around the town with a picture of her daughter's pet appealing for information.

It reads: "Our cat has disappeared.  Her name is Tequila. She is a black cat with white socks, bib, tummy and the tip of her tail. She is 14 years old.

"She is on holiday in New Street, Falmouth and we need to find her ASAP.

"If you have seen her please ring or text: 07795278117"

However she says while people have been extremely kind and contacted her with photos of cats they have seen like her - it is usually the same one.

Not only that, it sits directly under Tequila's missing photo and looks exactly like her, apart from a few small differences.

"I have now found out who that cat is - she is called Pizza and she sits under the ‘Missing’ poster of Tequila on Hull’s Lane (By Tragos) which everyone finds very amusing.

"I have to disappoint them by saying I know exactly which cat you have seen but Tequila has a white tip on her tail.

"Whenever I’ve come across Pizza I also think she is Tequila but she has a black tail with no white tip so then I know it isn’t our cat!"
