CORNWALL Council has warned commuters of long delays and travel disruptions this month in Helston.  

On Monday (September 4) it was revealed that four roads in Helston will be closed to allow essential maintenance works from South West Water engineers on Wednesday, September 20 and Thursday, September 21.  

However, each road closure will only last one day, unlike the previous closures in and around Helston. 

The roads that will be closed will be Church Lane, Church Street, Penhallaz Road and Godolphin Road.

Church Lane and Church Street are the first roads to be closed between the junction of Grylls Park and Church Hill and Church Street between the junction of Church Hill and property number 36 on Wednesday, September 20 between the hours of 7.30am and 5pm. Pedestrian and vehicle access will be maintained for people living in that area.

The second road closure on September 20, takes place on Pehallaz Hill between 7.30am and 6pm. Starting at the junction between the main road to Penzance and St Johns Close. The works are expected to take one day, with access for pedestrians and vehicles maintained.

The final road closure commences on Godolphin Road on Thursday, September 21 between the hours of 9.30am and 3.30pm. The road will be closed between the junction of Wendron Street and Station Road and it is expected to last one day.
