The election takes place on October 5 and, if elected, he will join seven Mebyon Kernow councillors already on the council, including mayor Zoe Fox and deputy mayor James Ball.

Donte currently works locally for the NHS.

In a statement, Mebyo Kernow said it  is pleased to announce that Donte Spillane has been selected to contest the upcoming by-election for a seat on Camborne Town Council.

"Donte works locally for the National Health Service and has a range of qualifications covering topics such as housing practise, first aid and safeguarding," it said.

"He also has experience of working to combat the present housing crisis through links with a housing association. We believe that he would make a fantastic addition to the authority.

"There are presently seven Mebyon Kernow councillors on the town council, with MK representatives Zoe Fox and James Ball presently serving as mayor and deputy mayor respectively."
