VOLUNTEERS at Helston Railway are preparing for Christmas as they announce dates for this year’s festive events.
The popular attraction at Prospidnick near Helston will host Santa Visits and festive train rides for eight days in December, and tickets are now available to book online.
Trains will run on the hour from 10.30am until 5.30pm on December 9,10,16,17,20,21,22 and 23.
There will also be a night train which leaves the station at 6.15pm each day, with minced pies on offer. However, this must be booked separately using the ‘Night Train’ link on the website.
Santa will be in his grotto near the shop and buffet coaches in the car park.

To avoid long queues to see Santa in his grotto, Helston Railway is organising 45-minute segments each with 15 children meeting Santa during that period.
Children can be accompanied by family members or people looking after them, without a need to purchase adult tickets.
Each child will receive a small gift with each visit to Santa’s Grotto.
When booking tickets for the visit, parents or guardians are asked to put the names of the children in the boxes on the ticket form when checking out.
