FALMOUTH Town Mayor, Councillor Kirstie Edwards, is inviting the people of Falmouth to participate in this year’s Annual Acts of Remembrance.

The timings of this year's events are as listed below.

Saturday, October 28, 2023 - Laying of First Poppy

Meet at the War Memorial Kimberley Park at 10.45am for laying of the first poppy. The Last Post will be played at 11.00am.

Saturday, November 11, 2023 - Two Minute Silence Observation

Meet at the St Nazaire Memorial on the Prince of Wales Pier at 10.50am for the Two Minutes Silence at 11.00am to mark Armistice Day

Sunday, November 12, 2023 - Remembrance Sunday Parade and Service at Kimberley Park

  • 10.35 am - The parade departs The Moor for Kimberley Park.
  • 11.00 am - Service conducted by Father Froom at the War Memorial including two minutes silence and wreath laying. 
  • 11.30 am - Parade departs Kimberley Park for return to the Moor for march past and salute by the Town Mayor.
  • 11.35 am - Parade disperses.

Organisers also note that, should the Remembrance Sunday event be cancelled due to unforeseen circumstances such as adverse weather conditions, a decision will be made by mid-day on Friday, November 10, and will be publicised on the Town Council website and social media channels.
