COASTGUARDS in Falmouth were called into action alongside a number of other emergency services to rescue an injured person near the Falmouth coast.
Emergency services were tasked with the rescue of an injured person near Arthur’s Beach, between Swanpool and Maenporth, on Sunday, October 22.
A multi-agency response to the incident took place and included Falmouth Coastguard, Falmouth Lifeboat, Devon & Cornwall Police, South Western Ambulance Service, NHS Foundation Trust, and Cornwall Air Ambulance.
Upon arrival, the casualty was located and members of the emergency services in attendence worked to extract the injured individual from the rocks and return them to Swanpool Beach where they were transferred to the care of the ambulance service and taken to hospital.
In a statement posted on its social media page, Falmouth Coastguard Rescue said: "We were tasked today, as part of a multi agency response to an injured person near Arthur’s Beach, between Swanpool and Maenporth.
"Falmouth Lifeboat, Devon & Cornwall Police, South Western Ambulance Service, NHS Foundation Trust, and Cornwall Air Ambulance, along with ourselves and full-time Coastguard Senior Coastal Operations Officer S11B.
"The casualty was extracted from the rocks and brought back to Swanpool Beach and handed over to a waiting Ambulance for further care and transport to hospital.
"Big thanks to Falmouth Golf Club for the transport and access!
