DRIVERS are being urged to ‘allow extra time for journeys’ ahead of road closures on the A30 this weekend, and on dates in November and December.

National Highways has announced two periods of road closures on the A30 between Chiverton and Carland Cross, and Chiverton and Boxheater starting from the beginning of next week.

They have also revealed details of potential road closures in November and December.

The first phase of overnight road closures will commence from Monday, October 30 to Friday, November 3 between 8pm to 6am. Traffic will be diverted via the A3076/A3058 and the A3075. The closure has been put in place to allow preparation work ahead of the second phase of overnight closures.

The second period will be a full weekend closure between Chiverton and Boxheater and will commence from 8pm on Friday, November 3 until 6am on Monday, November 6.

This closure will be used to switch traffic under the new Marazanvose green bridge, for construction work to be continued over the existing A30.

A spokesperson from National Highways said: “Please plan ahead and allow extra time for your journeys during these closures.”
