A MUSEUM in Cornwall has announced the return of an ever-popular Christmas attraction for this year's festive period.

Christmas Day is less than two months away and this year the Shipwreck Treasure Museum's dazzling festive Tunnel of Lights event will have added sparkle with the news that a very special visitor will also be visiting Charlestown this Christmas.

The Charlestown attraction has announced the details for the return of the ever-popular immersive Tunnel of Lights event that will run from late November through to the end of December.

This will be the Tunnel of Lights' fifth year and will see the award-winning museum transformed in its entirety, including the network of historic tunnels beneath the building, into a very special festive wonderland.

Lynné Raubenheimer, visitor engagement manager at the Shipwreck Treasure Museum said: "We have been planning this year’s Tunnel of Lights event for some time and our team of creatives are already well into creating a new, dazzling and immersive Christmas experience full of colour, miles of lights and plenty of sparkle for our visitors to enjoy. It really will be the most festive place in Cornwall.

“We’re particularly excited to welcome Santa to Charlestown this year. Accompanied by his elves, he will be meeting children in his magical grotto during December.”

A giant, interactive snow globe that was a big hit after making its debut at the event last year is back by popular demand. It will be available complete with fluttering snow for families to book to capture some fun festive photos and videos. Tasty festive refreshments, with an authentic Scandinavian feel, will be served at the Glögg Stop during the event and at the attraction’s own coffee shop, Koffi.

The Tunnel of Lights will run from Saturday, November 25 on selected dates and times until Sunday, December 31. Excited children can meet Santa at the venue from Friday 15 to Sunday, December 24.

Tickets for both events, which are limited in number, are available to book online at www.shipreckcharlestown.co.uk
