THERE were smiles all round as the farming community were celebrated at the South West Farmer Awards 2023. 

With a three course dinner at the Somerset County Cricket Club, guests from all over the South West came to support the finalists. 

The winners of the 2023 South West Farmer Awards are as follows:

  • Young Farmer of the Year, sponsored by Coodes Solicitors and presented by Pam Johns -Tom Stinton, Cools Farm in Wiltshire 
  • Apprentice Of The Year, sponsored by Cornwall College and presented by Darren Evans - Rosie Squire, Duchy College
  • Beef farmer of the year, sponsored by Allflex and presented by Zoe Philips-Lewis - Bill and Suzanne Harper of Trepoyle Farm, near Holsworthy in Cornwall
