Donations to local charity BF Adventure will be doubled this Christmas.

This affects all contributions made to its Big Give Christmas Challenge campaign from November 28 to December 5.

Funds will be directed toward the Brighter Futures Fund, which aids the charity's pivotal work with disadvantaged youth across the county.

Young people receiving help from BF Adventure face hardships including disabilities, mental health difficulties, poverty, and trauma.

Donations will offer these students an opportunity to join school residential visits and partake in enriching learning experiences that create lasting memories.

This year, BF Adventure aims to raise £4,200, allowing them to extend their specialised support to more children.

A parent of one child who attended BF Adventure shared her impactful experience.

She explained: "My son was in a really bad place.

"Since attending BF he's so happy, will work with others and take the lead in groups outside of BF.

"The confidence and self-esteem BF has given him is outstanding.

"BF gave me my boy back."

Generous contributions will come from The Reed Foundation, Morek Engineering, Unfold Studio and individual supporters, who will match donations penny for penny.

Further aid is provided by The Cornish Barista’s Quarryside Café, which will donate 10% of all its sales during the campaign, with each donation then being doubled.

Adrian Richards, CEO of BF Adventure, emphasised the urgent need for support.

He said: "The demand for our services is extremely high, with a long waiting list of young people in acute need.

"Supporting our campaign will enable us to reach more young people with our life-changing and in some cases, life-saving support.

"We couldn’t survive without the crucial support from the community and are incredibly grateful for all donations."

Those wishing to contribute can visit www.bfadventure.org from midday on November 28.
