A Falmouth leadership and team development training company has received an Armed Forces Covenant Silver Employer Award in recognition of its exceptional support of the armed forces community.

Take Point Training was first presented with a bronze award in 2022 for its supportive employer policies and conduct. The Ministry of Defence Awards celebrate employers who go above and beyond in providing for its veterans, reservists, cadet force and their families, ensuring they receive fair treatment.

Divided into three tiers - bronze, silver and gold - each represents a different pledge and asks progressively more of the organisations involved. Silver award winners must meet specific criteria, such as demonstrating their support to mobilisations of reservists and providing at least five days’ additional leave for training. The Cornish firm uses the skills, experience and expertise of former military personnel to deliver its unique training programmes across the UK.

An official presentation ceremony took place in late October at The Alverton Hotel in Truro.

Take Point Training’s founder, Shaun Pascoe, is a veteran himself and served in the RAF for 16 years. He said: “We are immensely proud to have received the Silver Award and be recognised as an employer that goes above and beyond in supporting defence personnel.

"As a company built on the principles, knowledge, values and skills of the Armed Forces community, we are committed to honouring their legacy and embracing their spirit of dedication in everything we do. This award has always been a vital goal for us, and we remain committed to further strengthening our ties with the armed forces and aspire to achieve the Gold Award in the near future.”
