A HUGE diversion has been put in place for a small length of road in Cornwall which has been deemed unsafe.

The stretch of road on the B3287 east of Tregony, between Newton and Pittsdown, is currently closed due to part of the road becoming unsafe. 

A large diversion has been put in place by Cornwall Council while an investigation takes place to identify what repairs will need to take place. 

In an update on its social media page, a spokesperson for Cornwall Council said: "The B3287 east of Tregony is currently closed as part of the road has become unsafe.

"The road will remain closed while investigations take place to identify what repairs are necessary.

"A diversion route is in place.

"We apologise for any inconvenience caused."

The diversion route takes drivers through Tregony, Freewater, and around the outskirts of Probus before rounding through to Grampound before turning off after Nancor and heading passed Trewarmanna.
