THREE men were among a number of offenders sentenced to prison at courts in Devon and Cornwall last week. 

The offenders were among a number of defendants sentenced in courts in Cornwall between Monday, November 20, and Friday, November 24, 2023.

First on the list this week is Gareth Hill, aged 43, from St Austell, who was sentenced at Truro Crown Court on Friday 24 November for multiple breaches of a sexual harm prevention order.

Hill's offences took place between June 2019 and December 2021 where he stayed at a property where a person under the age of 16 was present and their parents were not always present and were not aware of Hill's previous convictions and his Sexual Offences Prevention Order. 

The order was originally placed upon him by Truro Crown Court on May 7, 2013. 

During his sentencing, Hill was handed down a sentence of five years in prison. 

Next on the list is Christopher Watson, aged 50, from Hayle, who was sentenced at Truro Crown Court on Thursday, November 23, for stalking.

Watson's offences included sending continuous text messages, calls and emails to his victim, posting messages on Facebook directed at the victim, and attending the victim's address. 

During his sentencing, Watson was sentenced to 12 months in prison.

The final offender on this week's list is Ryan Angove, aged, 30 of no fixed abode, who was sentenced at Truro Crown Court on Thursday, November 23, for strangulation and two counts of actual bodily harm.

Angove's offences took place in October of this year when he assaulted a female victim by intentionally strangling her as well as causing actual bodily harm. 

During his sentencing, Angove was handed down a prison sentence of 30 months.
