A motorboat with four people on board had to be towed away from rocks by a fishing vessel after breaking down off the Cornwall coast.
Falmouth ๐๐ป๐๐ต๐ผ๐ฟ๐ฒ ๐น๐ถ๐ณ๐ฒ๐ฏ๐ผ๐ฎ๐ was launched at 1pm on Tuesday after Falmouth Coastguard were contacted about the 30ft motorboat which had broken down and was now drifting into the lee shore of St Just.
'Robina Nixon Chard' launched just eight minutes later with a full complement of four crew, into slight seas, but with a NW force 4 on shore wind. They arrived at the scene ten minutes later and found that a local fishing vessel had taken the motorboat in tow to stop it hitting the nearby rocks.
The lifeboat pulled alongside an took over the tow from the fishing vessel to stop the motorboat going onto the rocks and being a danger to other vessels in the area.
It towed the motorboat back to Falmouth Marina and safety advice was given to the people on board.

โOur Atlantic 85 inshore lifeboat 'Robina Nixon Chard' launched just eight minutes later with a full complement of four crew, into slight seas, but with a NW force 4 on shore wind.
Once on-scene,10 minutes after launch, the lifeboat established that a local fishing boat had taken the motorboat in tow to prevent it hitting rocks nearby.
The lifeboat went alongside and took over the tow from the fishing boat to prevent the vessel from going ashore or becoming a risk to other vessels in the area. Once the lifeboat had secured the casualty vessel in Falmouth marina, and safety advice given, it was released by the Coastguard, returning to station at 2.40pm, where it was readied for further service before closing down.โ
