Shops and businesses in Helston have been recognised for their festive window displays.

This is the sixth year that Helston CIC has run the Christmas Window Competition and were impressed with the efforts of the winning shops and other businesses in the town which took part.

Helston CIC directors have revealed that The Bell on Meneage Street was awarded the gold, which was presented to David Lemon who owns the pub by Deputy Mayor Nicola Boase. Rosemary Jenkins owner of Jenkins Sweet Shop also on Meneage Street was presented with the silver certificate, whilst Danny Tresidder, owner of Tech-Revive accepted the bronze certificate.

Helston CIC has also thanked the Helston Lights Committee for their hard work during the festive season. A spokesperson said: “We would also like to thank the Helston Lights Committee who do so much to get the lights up in good time and make the town look wonderful.
