WONDERING where in Cornwall might be the cheapest place to buy a house? We've got you covered.

Despite Cornwall's reputation for high house prices and cost of living challenges, there are still areas that could be a viable and affordable option.

According to data released last year by Zoopla, Camborne, noted for its mining heritage, has been revealed as the cheapest area in the region for prospective home buyers.

The average home price stands at a modest £216,000, significantly below many parts of the county. In the South West, the average price of a property as of October 2023 is £330,260.

As a result, Camborne is predicted to pique the interest of potential home buyers seeking an affordable start on the property ladder in the South West.

According to the October 2023 UK House Price Index, the average house price in Cornwall is £316,045, down from £322,899 in October 2022, a reduction of -2.1 percent.

Nationally, the average price of a property in the UK was £287,782 whereas the average price of property in England alone is £305,902.

The region with the highest average property price as of October 2023 is London, with an average of £515,504. The region with the lowest average property price is the North East with an average price of £161,237.

The average price of property in Wales is £214,100, while in Scotland it is £191,233.
