The Met Office has extended a 'danger to life' yellow weather warning for strong winds in Cornwall.
Forecasters have issued a yellow weather warning for wind, which is expected to develop widely across the UK on Sunday and persist into the early hours of Monday.
Gusts up to 50-60mph are likely, with some exposed locations (e.g. coasts) reaching up to 60-70 mph.
The yellow warning is predicted to last from 6am on Sunday, January 21 until 6am on Monday, January 22.
However, there will be further updates about the warning issued. The Met Office explains: “There remains a chance of stronger winds impacting parts of this area for a time, but this aspect remains uncertain with further updates to the warning to be expected over the coming days.”
The Met Office has also shared what to expect when the weather warning comes into force. These include:

-
There is a small chance of injuries and danger to life from flying debris.
-
There is a small chance that some roads and bridges could close.
