A fire-damaged former bakery has been put up for sale.
The property, at 40-42 Causewayhead in Penzance, has been described as a “substantial commercial property.”
It was once the home of The Oven Door Bakery.
Based in a pedestrianised street in the town centre, it has a freehold guide price of £120,000 to £150,000 with Clive Emson Land and Property Auctioneers.
The building has suffered some fire damage in one part, meaning it will need refurbishment and improvement works.
However, there could also be the potential for redevelopment, subject to the necessary planning permission.
Auctioneer David Henwood said: “This is a substantial freehold property which has suffered some fire damage, which has been confined to part of the property.
“It requires a comprehensive programme of improvement works although, alternatively, some parties may wish to consider a range of development schemes including sub-division or part conversion, subject to all the necessary consents.”
The property’s ground floor includes retail space and bakery production room, while on the first floor there is an ancillary office, storage and former staff facilities.
It is not the only property in the Penzance area to be part of the next sale with Clive Emson, which is set to take place from February 5 to 7.
Cornwall Council has instructed the auction of ‘loos with a view’ on the seafront at Long Rock.
Described as a ‘rare and exciting opportunity’ for the freehold of a detached block of former public conveniences, they have views of the famous St Michael’s Mount.

Extending to 0.05 hectares (0.12 acres), the lot includes both men’s and ladies’ facilities and surrounding land. They have an overall freehold guide price of £20,000 plus.
The lot is among 135 lots listed in the latest auction, bidding for which begins on February 5 and ends on February 7.
