Nine newly qualified registered veterinary nurses from Duchy College Rosewarne have been honoured at a Celebration of Achievement day.

The event spotlighted the significant accomplishments of these individuals in the veterinary field.

The morning was filled with proud students, staff members, and industry representatives, acknowledging the nurses' years of hard work and dedication.

Presenting the awards was veterinary surgeon and director of Beacon VetCare, Colin Whiting.

He expressed his pleasure saying: "I was thrilled to be invited to the College and welcome the new generation of qualified registered veterinary nurses to the industry, it's vital that we celebrate their well-deserved success."

Mel Clear, head of the veterinary nursing centre at the college, which is part of The Cornwall College Group, marked the event as "a special moment of recognition".

She added: "I am immensely proud of these dedicated individuals who have completed their training and are now embarking on a fulfilling journey in veterinary nursing.

"Witnessing their growth and commitment has been truly inspiring."

Student Luke Shaddock, now a branch lead nurse at Clifton Villa Veterinary Practice said: "Throughout the years, the College has been a fantastic source of support and I’m optimistic that completing the advanced qualification will open more doors for me within the industry."

A variety of veterinary practices in the region have backed the training of Duchy College’s newly qualified RVNs, further bolstering the local demand for such expertise.
