A POPULAR café has reminded customers that it will be closing for renovations at the end of the month.

Earlier this month, the Trevena Cross garden centre at Breage, on the Helston to Penzance road, confirmed that its existing set-up, in the form of the Garden Kitchen Café, would be closing at the end of January 2024.

It said the café building would reopen in early March after extensive refurbishment, and with a new name, under Trevena Cross management.

In a statement posted online, Trevena Cross said: "A reminder to all our customers that the café will be temporarily closing at the end of the day this Wednesday while we continue with the refurbishment and building works to create the new Palm Tree Bistro. We anticipate that this will be opening for business at the beginning of March.

"Those looking for a caffeine hit or something to eat will still be able to. The Cornish Barista will be here with their van selling hot drinks and sweet treats for the duration of the cafe closure.

"There will also be street food from BiteMe Street Food on site too - those of you who visited us at Christmas will be familiar with the delicious offerings from both The Cornish Barista and Bite Me Street Food.

"The Cornish Barista will be here daily, and Bite Me Street Food, Tuesday-Sunday from around 9.30am to 4pm.

"We are very sorry for any inconvenience the temporary closure of the cafe will cause but we hope you will be as excited as we are about the transformation that will take place during February.

"Keep checking back here for a sneak peek on the progress with the refurbishment."
