The founder of a woman’s mental health charity in Cornwall has announced the closure of one of its charity boutiques.

Your Voice CIC founder Natasha Long has revealed that the YVC Re-Loved Boutique in Redruth will close immediately, due to ill health, and slow trading.

A statement shared on the boutique’s Facebook page said: “It is with great sadness that we announce our closure, immediately.

“Unfortunately, the odds are stacked against us – with ill health and slow trade meaning that it has been impossible for us to continue to open.

“We’re sad to go and are so incredibly grateful to each and every one of you who has shown us support.”

Natasha also notes that the Helston Your Voice boutique will remain open, with a recently launched website for people to shop online.

Although Natasha said she is “sad” to see the Redruth boutique close, she is now focusing on an upcoming campaign which will celebrate women who have struggled with their mental health and are still with us. She said: “We do want to focus on women’s mental health in general, but we also want to highlight the fact that there are mental illnesses which are female-specific.”

Natasha explains that some women may experience post-natal and pre-natal depression, and Premenstrual Dysphoric Disorder (PMMD) a condition which can cause feelings of suicide, anxiety, mood swings and periods of irritability and anger.

With plans in place to help women in the future, Natasha said she would like to see more support from members of the public and local businesses to help continue to support women in need.

Your Voice Cornwall also offers a place for parents to socialise. The ‘Snug Hub’ which is on Coinage Ope in Helston provides group sessions for parents' wellbeing, parents with neurodiverse children, a book club and a craft group – as well as a ‘safe place’ for people to go and talk to others.
