A Swedish trio friends with award-winning musician and producer, Sean Lakeman will light up The Acorn, Penzance, with their folk music on March 13.

Baskery are known for their energetic live shows and unique sound created on a six-string banjo, upright bass, acoustic and electric guitars, drums, and harmonies.

The sisters from Stockholm have won international recognition since first sealing a record deal with WBR bros, Los Angeles, in 2014.

With a foundation of "roots music and Americana", Baskery broke the rules of traditional music.

Their blend of back-to-basics punk and reflective song writing marked them as a force in the contemporary Americana and Folk scenes.

In October 2023, the band released their latest work, V End of the Bloodline, their first full-length record in five years.

As the three members were isolated in different countries due to the pandemic since March 2020, they found solace and inspiration in composing individually.

Greta, one of the sisters, said: "The instruments are the same, but my effects’ pedalboard grew a bit since the start.

"The banjos take on some shiny picking parts in addition to the dirty distorted slide vibe."

Award-winning musician and producer, Sean Lakeman, an old friend of the band since 2008, produced the new album.

Mr Lakeman's brother, Seth Lakeman, played the viola on two tracks, Little Lonesome Hate and Wolf Hook.
