A man and woman from Penzance have been arrested following an incident on Sunday evening.
At around 7pm on Sunday (February 11), the police were called to reports of a man making threats to shop workers, understood to be a food business on Alverton Street, Penzance.
Armed officers attended the scene, and enquiries were carried out.
A man 45-year-old woman and a 50-year-old man, both from Penzance were arrested, and both remain in police custody.
The police confirmed on Monday (February 12) that a 45-year-old man from Penzance was arrested on suspicion of affray and possession of an offensive weapon in a public place.
A 50-year-old woman, from Penzance was also arrested on suspicion of possession of an offensive weapon in a public place.
A force spokesperson said: “Police were notified at around 7pm on Sunday 11 February to reports of a man making threats to shop workers on Alverton Street, Penzance.
“Armed officers attended the scene and enquiries were carried out.
“A 45-year-old man from Penzance was arrested on suspicion of affray and possession of an offensive weapon in a public place.
“A 50-year-old woman from Penzance was arrested on possession of an offensive weapon in a public place.
“Both remain in police custody.”
