Rotary club members and the general public sung their way to success in the week before Christmas.

In December Helston Rotary Club organised their annual carol singing at Central Methodist Church in Helston, which is held for charity.

The evening is always a popular event on Helston’s festive calendar, and included a raffle with a top prize of a hamper provided by Helston Tesco.

Although free to attend, there was a retiring collection at the end of the service in aid of Little Harbour hospice at St Austell, part of Children’s Hospice South West, with those attending digging deep into their pockets.

After a count up it was found that more than £600 was raised on the evening, which was then made up to £1,000 by the club.

This has now been presented to the charity at a club meeting at the Wheal Dream.

Amanda Masters, from the charity, attended to give an update on Little Harbour Children's Hospice and to collect the money, which was handed over by Helston Rotary club president John Notley.
