Co-op is set to re-launch a St Ives store this week after a six-week programme of works and improvements.

The convenience retailer’s Royal Square store opens on Friday and will then be open between 7am and 11pm daily. Co-op said the store will support 12 local jobs.

It is one of three Co-op stores in St Ives, with others at The Stennack and Tregenna Place.

The company said the Royal Square store was "designed to serve and support the community and tourists, conveniently."

Self-scan tills have been added to help speed up shopping times for some customers, especially during peak times.

A recycle unit for soft plastics is also available in store, where customers can take crisp packets and bread bags, lids from ready meals and yogurt pots, biscuit wrappers and, pet food pouches to be recycled. 

 The refurbished shop also has better storage and warehouse faciltiies out the back, to improve the availability of products. 

The store will be added the list of Co-ops offering online home delivery of groceries in St Ives, within a ten-mile radius. Orders can be placed through Co-op’s online shop, shop.coop.co.uk
