The Met Office has issued a yellow weather warning for heavy rain to hit Cornwall on Thursday (February 15).
The entire Duchy is set to be affected by the heavy downpours, which according to the Met Office is due to begin at around 11am and remain in place until 11.59pm.
With the weather warning in place, the Met Office said that the rain could bring some disruption throughout the day, with transport thought to be worst affected. Spray and flooding on roads could also cause delays.
A Met Office spokesperson said: “Further rain, on already saturated ground, is expected to move north and east to affect parts of South West England and South Wales on Thursday morning and will become persistent and heavy at times. 15 to 20 mm of rain is expected to fall widely with 30 to 40 mm likely over higher ground.
“The rain will start to die out from the west after dark.”
The Met Office is also advising what to do in heavy rain. A spokesperson said: “Give yourself the best chance of avoiding delays by checking road conditions if driving, or bus and train timetables, amending your travel plans if necessary.
“Be prepared for weather warnings to change quickly: when a weather warning is issued, the Met Office recommends staying up to date with the weather forecast in your area.”
