Police are appealing for witnesses following a serious crash on the main Helston to Falmouth Road which saw one man taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries. 

On Thursday (February 22) the Packet reported that the main Helston to Falmouth Road was closed off following a serious collision on the A394 at Rame.

The police have said in a statement released today (Friday) that the driver of a red Suzuki sustained life-threatening injuries, whilst the driver of a white Peugeot Boxer Van sustained non-threatening / changing injuries and was treated at the hospital.

The road was closed in both directions for up to 14 hours while officers carried out investigations at the scene.

Officers are now asking members of the public with any relevant information or dashcam footage to get in touch.

A force spokesperson said: “Officers were called at around 12.05pm on Thursday 22 February to Rame Cross, outside the Halfway House public house. It was reported that a collision had occurred involving a red Suzuki Alto and a white Peugeot Boxer van.

“The 34-year-old male driver of the Suzuki sustained life-threatening injuries and was taken to hospital.

"The van driver sustained non-life-threatening/changing injuries and was treated at hospital.

“An investigation was carried out at the scene and the road reopened at 2:15am. Officers from the Roads Policing Team would like to thank the public for their patience whilst this took place.

“Anyone with any relevant information or dashcam footage which may assist the investigation is asked to contact police by calling 101 quoting log 310 of 22 February or via our website”.
