Plymouth Marjon University has announced a new partnership that will bring its teacher training course to Cornwall.

The collaboration with the Cornwall Education Learning Trust sets out increased opportunities for undergraduate and postgraduate education, addressing the growing need for teachers.

Unique Initial Teacher Training (ITT) programmes form the centre of this partnership, providing comprehensive pathways for future primary and secondary school teachers in Cornwall.

They will benefit from Marjon academics' expertise and have access to placement opportunities across CELT's network of academies.

The university, with over 180 years of teacher training history, will also offer a level five foundation degree in teaching and learning in Bodmin.

This part-time course complements employment commitments and offers individuals a stepping stone into teaching or related professions.

The joint initiative between Marjon and CELT aims to increase higher education participation and address challenges in teacher recruitment and retention.
